Fish for rainbow trout, brown trout, blue trout, goldies, brook trout and tiger trout in Salix Loch at Broom Fisheries, Annan - Scotland's premier fly fishing and coarse angling experience.

Salix has a bay with heavy growth overhang as a feature at one end, whilst the other end has some clear pegs for easy casting which is ideal for beginners, making this loch a good all round fishing experience no matter what your level of expertise. It has a fairly even depth of around 5 feet., and Broom Tackle Box, our on-site fishing tackle shop always has a selection of quality fishing flies that work well on this loch, depending on the time of year you fish it.

Salix fly fishing loch is close to Betula Loch. With easy access from the M6 and M74, Broom Fisheries game fishing waters are a regular haunt for fly fishermen from Scotland, Cumbria, Lancashire, and the North East of England

Whether you want competitive fishing or just a quiet time away from it all enjoying the scenery and the pleasure of stalking the fish. Broom waters are re-stocked continually throughout the year ensuring great catching opportunities in all seasons.

This fly fishing water has 10 pegs to fish from and is home to the following species of fish:

  • Brown Trout - The most common trout found in Scotland. The brown trout at the Broom are a lot bigger than those often caught in the wild.
  • Rainbow Trout - Brightly coloured trout in tip top condition
  • Golden Trout - The pale colour of the skin on this fish makes it easy to see in the water, but it is very wily and catching one is a great achievement.
  • Blue TroutThis fish has a beautiful blue hue across its back, and is one of the feistiest fish you can hook.
  • Tiger Trout - This cross between a brook trout and a brown trout has distinctive tiger-like markings, making it one of the most beautiful fish in UK waters
